ADMISSION TO COMMUNION

The traditional time for a person to receive their first communion is at their Confirmation, but the Anglican Church of Australia now allows children who have been baptised and come regularly to church with their parents, and who are old enough to understand some simple instruction (from about 6 or 7 years of age), to undergo a short period of learning and then to be admitted to receive communion. Talk to the Vicar about whether your child is ready for this important step in their spiritual journey.

CONFIRMATION

When people who have been baptised feel ready to make for themselves the promises that were made for them at their baptism, they may apply to the Vicar to join a preparation class and prepare to be confirmed by the bishop.
